Plastic cards are suitable for many applications such as identification cards, driver's licenses, membership cards, employee cards, and payment cards its prevalent in daily life.
In general, they use “special dye-sublimation technology” for those applications using plastic cards.
All IDP card printers include “Five core Card Printing Technologies”.
Color Printing
Card color printing uses a color ribbon consisting of three panels (Yellow, Magenta and Cyan) to print directly onto the surface of the card.
The color ribbon is placed between the print head and plastic card, and as the plastic card passes through the print head, heat, itself is applied directly to the ribbon on the respective panel to print colors on the card surfaces.
In general, the color depth is adjusted using the heat of the print head, and the dye is printed in a 300dpi (300 dots per inch, 11.8 dots/mm) resolution onto the card surface. This process allows you to print optimized high-quality images and logos.
IDP is ready to offer a variety of types of ribbons for color printing now.

Monochrome printing
A monochrome printer is a type of printing that prints using ONLY black, metallic gold, silver, red, blue, and white panels itself.
It’s generally considered more cost-efficient than its colored counterpart.
The mono panel based on the resin is printed on the card surface by the heat in the print head and is mainly used for heavier day-to-day printing needs such as temporary ID cards, visiting cards, and membership card, a monochrome printer is the more logical choice when creates crisp black and white textile, barcodes and non-images card.
It may not be as versatile as a color printer, but it remains the printer of choice for business use simply because the color isn’t always a necessity in most professional settings.
IDP is ready to offer various types of ribbons for mono printing now.

Overlays
Simply, overlays, protects to fading on the printed images and text from scratch, sweat and moisture on the card. This transparent resin ribbon uses in dye sublimation printers contain a thin, clear overlay panel (also called the “O” panel).
Normally, the overlay on this panel is automatically applied to cards during the printing of the last process and can apply to add simple visual effects such as watermarks and patterns.
UV Panel
How important is security to your visual security card?
UV panel is one cost-efficient way to improve ID card security by adding Ultraviolet or UV images and it resistant to counterfeit.
UV Panel is a way to transmit directly UV-responsive material onto plastic cards.
Generally, in lighting, it is used to add UV watermarks that difficult to visually identify.
That's why user can easily design customized logo or trademark without additional cost on the card surface as well as enable to add UV watermark for anti-counterfeit.
So, to recap, UV panel is an advanced security panel that represents fluorescent images in ultraviolet light with an economic cost.
Laminating
Laminating produce long-lasting cards that are highly secure and protected from the elements such as ID cards and driver license.
It provides extra defense against moisture, tears, sweat, and frequent friction as well as protection against counterfeiting and tampering.
According to these advantages, IDP suggests you laminate film which is highly performed durability and secure function, and perfect on SMART-51L and SMART-70.
Besides, you can grab two types of general stock holograms as well as customized designs.
“Kill two birds with one stone.”
SMART Laminating series (SMART-51L and SMART-70) use patented “Instant direct heating mechanism” and it nominates as the fastest laminate in the industries due to little warm-up time.
So, you can guarantee not only high performance but also follow energy-saving footprint.
IDP’s laminating film is a reliable product that has been proven and developed through numerous tests to deliver breakthrough experiences to our customers.
As a result, it’s being broadly used for resident registration cards, driver licenses, airports, and port passes that require high security.
